Remote Andy is a phone remote for Android TV and Google TV. This policy explains what the app handles and what it does not.
Last updated: 10 October 2026
This policy applies to the Remote Andy Android app. The app is an independent utility. It is not made by, or affiliated with, the maker of your TV or the apps launched from the buttons.
Remote Andy does not create an account, does not use analytics, and does not send your data to a developer server.
On your phone it stores:
This data stays in the app's private storage on the phone. It is used only to reconnect to a TV you already paired and to remember your settings.
The app looks for TVs on the same Wi-Fi using local network discovery, then connects to the TV you pick. Pairing and control happen directly between the phone and the TV. Guest Wi-Fi often hides the TV.
The location permission is requested only on Android 12 and below, because those versions require it for local network discovery. The app does not read your GPS position and does not use location for advertising.
Purchases are handled by Google Play. Remote Andy does not receive your payment details. Google’s privacy policy applies to the purchase.
Remote Andy does not sell, share, or upload your TV list, pairing certificate, or settings.
You can copy a pairing key from Settings and paste it into Remote Andy on another phone. That key includes the certificate and private key. You choose when to copy it, and you send it yourself. Do not share it with people you do not trust.
Paired TVs stay stored until you tap Forget, or until you uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app deletes the stored TVs, the pairing certificate, and the settings.
Remote Andy is a general utility. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated text will be posted at this address with a new date.
